New Member of proALPHA Software Executive Board
Jürgen Brand Will Strengthen Business Administration

As of April 1, 2009, the proALPHA Software AG supervisory board appointed 38 year-old Jürgen Brand to the company’s executive board. In his position as CFO he will be in charge of finance and controlling. He will take over this task from CEO Leo Ernst who has been solely responsible for the administrative field. The CEOs Leo and Werner Ernst will stay in office. Leo Ernst will still be in charge of marketing, sales and corporate development. Werner Ernst will be responsible for the technical sector, i.e. technological strategy, software development as well as service/maintenance.
"With Jürgen Brand as CFO the board of directors has resorted to a highly-qualified expert who has proven to be a true leader for many years, already", says Dr. Wolfgang Wawrzinek, chairman of the supervisory board. "The extension of the executive board constitutes the organisational basis for further growth", adds Dr. Wawrzinek. According to the new CFO, his major strategic aims for business development in the next years will be to safeguard financial in-dependence and to extent profit-oriented growth.
Early in the year 2000 Jürgen Brand started his work with proALPHA as executive assistant. In December 2000 already he became manager of the finance and accounting department. As member of the proALPHA group management and proxy he will enter the executive board at the beginning of the new business year (April 1 to March 31. Before his move to proALPHA, the graduated industrial engineer worked as an accountant and tax consultant for KPMG and PWC. After his CPA he moved to proALPHA in March 2000 to considerably contribute to the planned IPO. Jürgen Brand is married and has a son.
